Quick questions on prior work experience and availability for travel. Some time was spent just discussing things to do in the area. Very relaxed interview. As long as you have prior fieldwork experience and highlight that, they’ll be happy.

Three interviews in total: phone screen, Teams call with hiring manager, and a group interview in their office. They asked very standard interview questions about my strengths/weaknesses, career goals, etc.
The office interview environment was very cold and weirdly hostile. They would ask me a question, I would answer, then a long pause until the ask me another question. Didn't really feel like a conversation, which threw me off balance and caused me to second guess my answers.
I am giving this interview an overall negative experience rating because they never followed up with me after I left the interview (this was months ago).

Went through the process of about four or five interviews, the conversation and all of those described a job that was about 20% fieldwork and travel mostly focusing on report writing. Was offered a job that would be 100% field sampling and travel for extended periods to one of the most dangerously contaminated jobsites in America. Also for significantly less salary than discussed.
