      Entrevista

Contacted by recruiter and had phone interview for STL / ETL. Questions were mostly behavioral with a couple of standard quetions (see below). Took about 35 minutes after which I was told I would be contacted to setup interview with DTL within a week. Questions in order as I remember them: Tell me about your experience and background. What are your top 3 things you are looking to get out of a position with target? What is your greatest weakness? Behavioral Questions: Tell me about a time you used your influence on a person and what the results were. Tell me about a time you led a project that got out of hand. Tell me about a time you had to share difficult news with your team. Tell me about a time you had to rely on others (teamwork) to get a task done. Tell me about a time you developed/mentored someone. Many follow up questions regarding succession planning, development, mentoring. There may have been one or two others similar to what I have read on different posts. After the interview I received some tips from others that have worked on target. Wish I would have spoken to them first. They basically mentioned to present yourself in a professional, fun, energetic light and to let your personality shine through. Hiring managers are more concerned about your "fit" with the company at this point as you generally have the skillset needed or they wouldn't be contacting you. You want to be someone good to work for or with, show them you have the ability to engage, enspire, coach, develop, and help others. Also mentioned having the capacity to recognize other's strengths and weaknesses and the ability to give and receive feedback. Go to the target website and under the careers page there is a "Resources for Candidates" section that gives you some interviewing tips. The part that talks about power stories and wins is essential to a good interview process. Make sure you answer your behavioral questions in the STAR format. STAR=Situation, Task, Actions, Result. Spoke with a former HR rep and he stated that the next steps will be an interview with the DTL, then a panel interview and perhaps one more. Panel interview is designed to "Stress" test you and see how you respond in a stressful environoment. Thats all I have for now. Will post more once I have the next interview.

      Entrevista

I was first contacted by a recruiter who asked some general information regarding my resume, followed by some behavioral, situational questions. After we spoke for about 45 minutes, she advised me that she was moving me on to the next interview- a face to face interview with the District Team Leader and District HR partner. The face to face interview was brief and though I wasn’t strictly professionally dressed, I felt overdressed as the interviewers were in leggings and casual tops. The questions were exactly the same as asked by the recruiter. Altogether, it took about 30 minutes. I spent more time talking to the receptionist. It’s only been the weekend, so still waiting to hear something.

      Entrevista

The interview process begins with a phone screening by a recruiter from their corporate office. After that, the process seems to diverge. In both of my attempts at working for this company, I was told that an interview with field managers would be the next step, and would happen quickly. In neither instance was that the case. In the first instance, nothing happened at all and a local internal candidate was promoted. In the second instance, I was given a working interview with a Store Team Leader about 30 miles from home and told that the District Leader was too busy to meet with me at that point, but to keep the process moving along, I was skipping that step. After that four hours process, I received a phone call telling me that they had found an internal candidate that was "willing" to relocate...but that the VERY next position that came up, I would be the first candidate considered. I told the recruiter that I appreciated the position this decision put her in, but that I was no longer "willing" to work for Target.
