Pair programming in Technical Screen, 2 pair programming interviews, 1 system design, 1 past experience and 1 leadership interview in onsite interview. Followed by 1 hiring manager interview. Interviewers were all really nice.

Two interviews before I was contacted by HR that the manager had been moved to another position, further explaining that the role would only be considered for internal only now. This was after I was asked to create a program for recruitment - sent a two page process outlining multiple practices and strategies.

Interviewed with Cash App. Overall interview was average, nothing unexpected and included a case study. The interaction with recruiting, however, was pretty bad. There was never a phone screen with recruiting and went straight to phone call with hiring manager. No one walked through the interview process, how many rounds there were, or timeline on when we would hear back. I've sent multiple follow up emails to the recruiter and have not heard anything back. And keep in mind that I am not an early stage candidate, I passed the case study and had 3 rounds of interviews already. I am really disappointed with my interview experience and this has changed my view of cash app culture drastically.

Interviewed for Cash App. Asks you to provide answers to AML related questions in 48 hours. About five questions were asked and def not a casual questions that you can answer in 30 min. Need to actually sit down and spend a couple of hours to answer. They are not entry-level questions. Next step was a short interview with the recruiter. The company being Square, definitely did not expect someone with questionable professionalism for the interview. The in-house recruiter was late to the interview. I could hear from the recruiter 's voice that the recruiter was 'just doing the job.' Very frustrating interview because I was the one who had to lead the conversation. The entire process felt like I was either being interviewed to meet their hiring quota for diversity or I was simply being used as a training material.

Process took a month and a half. I understand due diligence however, response times are lagging. I had 4 different zoom interviews after the initial phone screening. I feel they are not considerate of candidates and can better execute spacing between each interview and how quick they follow up.

I interviewed for Square. The process took a week and a bit. Starts off with a phone screening where they just ask you about your background and your customer service experience, as well as speaking with a french speaker. If successful, they move on to the panel interview. This is a bit lengthy, but goes by very quick. Here they assess your experience working with customers, working in a team as well as assessing if you fit within the company company culture. Overall, very friendly group to deal with.

I had a recruiter screening that felt very rushed. She called me five minutes late after the scheduled time and then proceeded to tell me to keep my answers concise as we had limited time. It also was apparent that she did not review my resume. She described next steps as an interview with the hiring manager, then a take home exercise with 48 hours to complete, followed by a presentation to the hiring manager of said exercise, and if I made it to the final round, it would be a panel interview with a live case study.

As a engineer with 10 YoE I was drawn to Square because they boast about their interview process being less algo/DS/LeetCode centric and more relevant to day-to-day. With a decade on my CV, thought I'd have a good venue to dive deep into my expertise and value I've provided elsewhere while demonstrating ability to get real work done. Applied online. Got automated response that I was in the system. Confirmation email again boasted about their interview style focusing on real-world scenarios. Contacted by a "recruiter" a day later to respond with availability for phone screen. Provided availability, got a google invite with hangouts link and coderpad link. Never got any non-templated/generated email from a recruiter, never had a chance to speak with Hiring Manager prior to screen to see if the role is even possibly a good fit. Tech Screen with 2 engineers. Both nice but got right to business as soon as they joined with a LeetCode-style medium difficulty problem. Solved it with 20 minutes to spare with a few hints from interview. He layered on a second, more difficult problem on top. With no time to implement, we discussed a possible approach. Obligatory 5 minutes at the end for questions. Generic rejection email the next day. Not convinced the recruiter was actually a human, likely a recruiter bot. Would have saved 3 engineers across both companies an hour of their time if fit was confirmed ahead of time and/or Square was actually honest up-front about what to expect. I understand this is standard process for big tech in the Bay Area who need to weed through hundreds of inexperienced applicants for every req, but Square should cut the BS and be honest that they are part of the LeetCode grinder.

I interviewed for the entry level position. Typical sales interview, met with recruiter and then 3 mangers after that. They asked questions off a list, it didn't feel like a conversation at all. It seemed a little bit unprofessional interviewing.
