Me postulé a través de una recomendación de un empleado. El proceso tomó 7 semanas. Acudí a una entrevista en Splunk en sept 2023
Entrevista
I applied online with an employee referral and was contacted shortly after applying. The process lasted 7 weeks and consisted of pretty traditional interview activities like video interviews with the hiring manager and experienced designers on the team, a portfolio presentation, and a virtual on-site. Every person I interacted with was kind, helpful, and seemed to share a common goal. Additionally, it was revealed that Splunk would be acquired during my interviews.
I was disappointed to not receive an offer, but I was downright disheartened to have shared so much time with this team only to receive zero feedback at the end.

I cold applied on their website and was contacted by a recruiter around a month later. The interview process was around 6 weeks long:
Recruiter screen - 15min
Hiring manager interview - 45min
Director interview (HM's boss) - 45min
Senior UX Designer interview - 45min
Director interview - 45min
Software engineer interview - 45min
Nearly one month after my last interview I was sent an automated rejection email (my follow up email to the recruiter was ghosted).
This is one of the worst interview processes I've participated in. I was asked to present a case study in 4/5 interviews despite receiving no indication that was part of the interview beforehand. Many of the questions the interviewers asked were the same, it was unclear to me why these were individual interviews instead of a panel. The recruiter was impossible to get in touch with and didn't respond to a single one of my follow ups throughout the process.
Despite all this, everyone on the team was delightful to talk to and seemed to have a lot of good to say about the company and the work they're doing. My read is that this seems like a good place with an awful hiring process.

The interview process was very methodical. The design manager who was hiring provided realistic expectations. Be aware that the interview can be very technical and read the technical requirements. Design maturity seems to be a work in progress. I suspect it unlikely that designers will find themselves working closely on a team with other designers, rather you may be supported by a central leader and tasked with culture change. That said, the team seemed very smart and savvy and I have seen great UX and visual design come from Splunk! I did not leave with a bitter feeling rather a feeling that it might be hard for any product designer to live up to the technical expectations the engineering-driven team seems to have.

A few things to emphasize in your talk track 1. what YOU did: spend the time talking about your specific work, not using the royal "we" or noting the team-at-large accomplishments 2. look for any parallels to projects you could see Splunk having similar issues
