My interview went well. I applied on Sunday (5/5/19) and they emailed me the next day. They wanted to have a phone call interview. It went well, the manager was SUPER friendly. It took about 15 minutes. Then she wanted to have a one on one interview with the store manager and chef manager. We schedule the 1:1 interview two days after the phone interview, she told me it is going to be a group interview. We schedule it on Thursday (5/9/19) at 4:00pm. The location was in Vience Beach (Los Angeles). I arrived 20 minutes early, and the place was PACKED with people so, I decided to wait outside until 3:58pm. I didn’t know too much about the place but I heard it is really good ice cream. 4:00pm hits and I entered and the manager saw me and she asked, “Are you here for the interview” I said “Yes”, she says, “Okay, I’ll be with you in a bit”. I waited for 10 minutes but I kind of understand because it was VERY busy. So she finally came and saw another person who applied and also waited for the interview, so she came and grabbed us both and took us to the break room. Interview started, it was the manager and the chef manager. She basically asked us the basic questions as in, “Tell me about yourself”, “Have you experience customer service”, “Did you have a previous job”, “What are your strengths”, and etc. The interview lasted like 20 minutes and after she gave us a paper for the availability and future day off requests. After the manager said, “Here are your training schedule just in case and we will email you tomorrow or Saturday to know if you guys get the job and begin the process”. Next day, Friday came and no email. Next day, Saturday no email. Sunday came I decided to call. I decided to call the place so I called and I said “Hi, I recently had an interview on Thursday, I would like to know an update”. The person wanted to know my name and wanted to know who interviewed me. I gave the person the names and the person said “Okay, we will give you a call tomorrow because the manager isn’t in today” I said “Okay, sure no problem”. I never received a phone call. I was a little upset but at the same time, I wasn’t because it was actually far away from my area where I live and I received a phone call from another job offer.

WAS GHOSTED AFTER THE INTERVIEW. LOCATION: NYC Received an interview invitation from a manager for an ice cream scooper role in NYC, on the day of the interview said manager wasn't even present. I was told to wait outside in the NYC heat, and then maybe 15 minutes later, I would be speaking to a random manager adjacent employee who expressed to me that she had never done an interview before conducting said "interview". After the interview, I sent the manager a text letting him know that I am still interested in the position and what the next steps would be. A little over a week goes by and my message was never responded to or even acknowledged. What a true lack of professionalism. If someone applies for a job and doesn't hear back, fine. But to go to an interview to meet with someone who doesn't even show up, then ends up ghosting the candidate without ever meeting them is truly pathetic. I wouldn't want to work for someone who treats candidates in such a horrible way, I can only imagine how the actual employees are being treated.
