The application process was not amazing due to a lack of honesty I believe. The job posting stated that the salary was based on experience and that the hours were flexible both elements being untrue. The process was in three steps. First came the phone interview with the recruiter, here I told her what my wage expectations were 40-42k depending on the package and she told me that the company had communicated to her 32k. She insisted that I continue the process because the wage was negotiable although it wasn't her who could do it but she believed I was the ideal candidate and that the management team would increase the amount. Second step of the interview was a 2h test. I quickly get called to go to the third step which is the interview at the offices. I meet the management team and we talk for a very long time, they ask me a lot of questions that are not super relevant since we haven't yet talked about wage, working hours or even benefits so I ask. Let me tell you there are no company benefits just the minimum legal ones, so 50% reimbursement of Navigo and participation on the private healthcare. Working hours are also strict, it's not flexible like when you are cadre, even your lunch break is fixed. They ask me again my salary expectations, to which I am surprised since they had already been communicated to them. I say 40k to which the boss tells me that it is way above what they pay for that position and that it is outside of their range. Naturally I ask what their range is to know if I am even interested at this point and he tells me he can't tell me. I find it rude and not fair to the candidate that after three meetings they are not even allowed to know basic info. I leave the interview, they tell me they are happy with my profile. I don't hear back for around a week, so I contact the recruiter multiple time, via email and phone. When she finally gets in contact with me over 10 days after she tells me that my profile was perfect but they went with someone else because they couldn't pay me and that if they had taken me I wouldn't have stayed long. The logic of everything was really messed up. Unless you want to accept a job that is very underpaid, and has fixed working hours and not even a "cadre" contract, I wouldn't waste your time.
