Entrevista
I applied in the beginning of December 2021 and received an invitation to video interview on 9 December 2021. I completed the video interview which there are 5 prerecorded questions and you answer and save. On 17 December, I received notification they were moving me forward and asked me to officially interview with 2 supervisors. Due to the holiday, the interviews were set for January. My interview was 5 January 2022 and it was fairly easy. The STAR method was used and I was asked about 5-6 questions. I then had the opportunity to ask questions myself which I asked about equipment and training.
10 January 2022 I was offered the position, pending background check (which included a credit check) and drug screen. I did both the same day. They give you a list of acceptable places to get your drug screen done and these are VERY time sensitive. You have 48 hours from the time you get the email to complete the drug screen. If you don’t make it or go to a place not on the list, you will be disqualified. It was over a week before I heard back and I reached out to HR myself and they were going over many applications so it would take time. The HR lady was very nice and helpful and informed me I would hear back later that day or the next. I heard back in the late afternoon that I was officially hired with Nationwide!
It was overall an easy and pleasant experience. Everyone I spoke to was very nice and made me feel at ease.

The process took 2 weeks! I applied online and received a phone call from a claims manager a week later. They asked me some questions and did a 10 min phone screen, then asked me to come in for a face-to-face interview that same week. The interview was about 30 min with two claims managers. As I was answering their questions they were writing down my replies. The questions were pretty average, and they ask you questions about your resume, your goals, and STAR questions. I thought I did pretty well for someone right out of college with no claims experience, but it didn't seem to be enough.

I was interviewed by two managers and also by the training manager. They were all very nice and they made the interview experience fairly stress free and very comfortable. Most of the interview included situation based questions, while the rest of the interview was spent going over my resume. The interview itself took about an hour. Following the interview, I went upstairs to the actual office and I shadowed a claims specialist for about a half hour.
