very hard problem solving test,need reading fast and good at estimate numbers. find practice exam on their website and must do it. interview questions is mainly about your understanding of the particular industry for that RA POSITION. for example they asked me about why auto insurance is not profitable and how to solve that problem.

Many different stages of interviews. The process took 2-3 months, whole HR team was very organized and communicative. I was introduced to many people from different departments. I had to prepare myself several hours before every call.

Problem solving test followed by 3-4 rounds of interview with case interviews and Guesstimates. Written round consisted of 26 questions with a time limit of 60 minutes followed by a short passage on "Why do you want to join McKinsey?" Tested communication skills, analytical skills and problem solving skills in the interview rounds.

I reached out me 1 month after my application. I did the HR interview by phone and the McKiseny assessment test (imbellus). in the first game I had to create an ecosystem and the second game was a tower defense game.

Absolutely a disgraceful experience. I had the worst experience ever with Mckinsey. After the initial screening, i received a proposed time for a phone interview with a recruiter. Then, on the selected day, she did not attend the meeting. I had to wait more than 15 minutes alone in the audio conference. I then decided to write her about her absence and she told me she was at another meeting, asking me to move our meeting in the afternoon. Very disrespectful, even because she knew I was working full time, in fact I quicklly had to move another previously scheduled meeting in order to have this Phone interview with the mckinsey recruiter. Then, this part is so hilarious, in the second meeting, the audio was muffled, distorted. And it was not my fault, because i had done many phone meetings and interviews before and I never had a problem with connection or audio/video. It was a problem of the recruiter. Due to her fault, it was extremely difficult to hear her, and this made the experience worse and worse. I answered all the questions and when She asked me if I had questions I had a list of interesting questions to ask her but she truncated the phone interview after my first question. I was not even able to say goodbye or thank her for her time (horrible to be honest). To conclude, the following day i received a very short mail from this recruiter telling me they did not want to proceed with my application, without even giving me a basic feedback of the phone interview and digital assessment I had to take the previous week. It seemed to me that she did not want to make the phone interview in the first place, but in this case she could have told me before without wasting my time. In all these years of interviews and recruiting days I took part to for different companies, this was absolutely the worst experience so far. I think that, after all the effort we candidates put into these interviews, giving a basic feedback is the least a serious company can do. I really thought that Mckinsey was the best of the best, but after this horrible interview process I changed my consideration of this company. I strongly believe its reputation is so overvalued. I had better experiences at other consulting companies (for which I worked for). They surely treat candidates way better.

Absolute disgraceful experience. After the initial screening, I received a proposed day for a phone interview by a recruiter (audio conference). However, she did not attend the audio conference on the selected day. I waited for more than 16 minutes in the conference alone. I wrote this recruiter and she told me she apparently was at another meeting. In all these years, this was the first time I had to experience such awful treatment. She could have told me before since I am working full time and she did know this detail. Moreover, she asked me to fix this meeting at another time and I agreed, despite the fact i had to move another meeting (that i had with a client) that was previously scheduled. Then, at this redescheduled phone interview the audio was very muffled. But it was not my fault because i had done many and many audio conferences before. So it was a connection problem of the recruiter. Due to her fault, i did not understand much of what she was saying. But i answered all the questions. To me, it seemed she was not interested at all, like if she had to do it because it was initially set. Then, the following day I received a mail from this recruiter telling me they did not want to proceed with my application, not even giving me any feedback, not even about the digital assessment i had to take the previous Week. Once again, this is the first time i don't receive a feedback/motivation of the exclusion. I believe that, after all the efforts we candidates put into the preparation to multiple rounds of a recruitment process, giving a feedback is the least a serious company could do. I have done many interviews in all these years, took part to recruiting days in different countries for different companies etc etc, and this was the worst experience I had so far. I thought Mckinsey was the best of the best, from today I am starting to think it is only a brand, to me it did not appear a serious company. At least, not the recruiter.

They have one of the most intense selection process. I got my CV shortlisted through Employee referral and we were called for Aptitude Test + Interviews the following week at 9am in the Gurugram Office. They had given us link to their website which had resources to prepare for aptitude test and case studies which was very helpful. The aptitude test was of 1 hour and had around 30 complex Data interpretation and decision-making questions. After the test 35 out of the 60 candidates were rejected and sent home. The others were divided into groups of 4 and were directed to wait for their interviews. Astonishingly, instead of a panel, all our rounds were 1 to 1 eliminating interview rounds. 1st round Interview - Senior Team Member - 40 mins In this round there were some basic technical questions about financial statements, some questions about my internships which were followed by a guesstimate and some personality questions. This was also an elimination round and 7-8 candidates were rejected after Interview round 1. 2nd round interview - (Asia Projects Leader ) - 40 mins It was a case study round. Candidates are given a case problem with some data and are required to give solutions considering the data provided. I would advise you to go through some Youtube videos of "how to solve consulting interview case study" as it would help you to get some basic idea of the structure to how to solve these case problems. Again, it was an elimination round and some candidates were rejected after this. Round 3 Interview - Senior Associate - 20 mins It was a short interview consisting of some general economic and finance questions followed by some personality-based questions. Round 4 - Senior Manager - 50 mins This was the toughest round for me personally as it was already around 7 in the evening and being there for more than 11 hours trying not to lose focus leads to mental fatigue and lethargy. But it’s important to stay focused and motivated because it doesn't matter how you performed in the last round as every round is eliminating round. So, this was case study + Personality round. I was given a profitability case problem which was followed by personality questions. After this round I was told to go home and wait for a mail from their side. I received a mail a couple of days later to come for a final round next week. 5th Round - Partner - 30 mins This was the final round of the process with the most senior member of the firm. To be honest I was expecting it to be easy round with some HR and personality-based questions. But to my surprise I was given another case study to solve. I was a bit nervous but I managed to keep my calm and provide decent answers. I received an offer letter a couple of weeks later which I accepted. The interview process is very intense (probably to remove human bias) but fun at the same time as you get a lot of learning through each of the round. I would advise potential candidates to go through the resources provided by the Mckinsey team and definitely watch some YT videos about solving interview case studies. All the Best !

I applied through the portal on their website and got an email from the HR person in Delhi after a month to set up a phone call. The HR person was supposed to call me at the scheduled time but she ended up calling me one hour late. Questions were fairly general and straightforward. The interviewer was quite rude.

Made me wait for more than 6hrs just to inform that I didn’t get through the first round.(Not that they had to evaluate many PST papers, it was only me who had the interview that day)
