Perfunctory recruiter screener that lasted 8 minutes then they issued a writing assignment before any conversations with the hiring manager (not typical in my experience). The assignment was reasonable (story pitches, feedback on their website) but took several days. Ghosted by the recruiter after submitting the assignment (never received confirmation of receipt, even after following up) then received an automated rejection weeks later. Curious to know if they’re just soliciting free labor??

Applied online. Took months to get back to me. Standard phone interview from sorority HR girl. Met with editors at Mashable, after killer interview was reached the following week stating I did not receive the position. Having seen the ppl there and read other reviews I have a feeling my skin color had a part to play.
