      The first conversation with Talent Acquisition was great. Really friendly and open conversation and was told that I would hear back by the end of the week as to whether the hiring manager would want to take my profile to the next stage. I didn’t hear back by the end of the week so I sent an email the following week, to be told that he hadn’t heard anything and will chase. Another week went by before I had an email to say they were interested and wanted to book in a 15 minute interview… yes, just 15 minutes! I asked if there was a structure to this conversation so I could come prepared to make the most effective use out of 15 minutes but was told no. I also asked if this was classed as the first stage interview or was it an interim conversation, however the TA didn’t answer my question. I had the meeting with the hiring manager who had his camera on for just 2 minutes to introduce himself, but then turned it off for the remainder of the conversation, so it felt like I was essentially talking to myself the whole time. It was also clear that the hiring manager hadn’t read my CV as was asking questions about the company I currently work for and was surprised they had a certain category. I had to wait another 2.5 weeks (I chased twice for feedback) before I was told the hiring manager would not be progressing to the next stage but with no other feedback. I was told feedback will follow but I’m not confident I will receive it without me needing to chase.
