      Entrevista para Office Assistant/Human Resource

Me postulé en línea. El proceso tomó 3 días. Acudí a una entrevista en Kmart (Independence, MO) en jul 2012

      Entrevista

I filled out an application online and was contacted that day to set up an interview. I printed up a resume, put on some business casual clothes, and arrived 15 minutes early. The woman conducting my interview was very nice. She had been with the company for 36 years. We went over my resume a bit, and then she smiled and proceeded to tell me that I was "overqualified". When I asked her to elaborate, she said that she knew what I was looking for, and didn't feel that Kmart could offer it to me. I pressed on and reaffirmed that I was fully capable of preforming the duties assigned to the position I was offered. Then I suddenly understood what she was talking about. I was offered 16-20 hours a week, at minimum wage. Companies that offer part time are looking to keep employees at a minimum of hours to avoid having to offer decent health benefits. The job requirements listed a t least 1 year of experience with human resource, filing, office duties etc. Offering minimum wage for anything other than a high school student looking for part time cashiering is an insult. Needles to say, I didn't take the position. Kmart is just another company, of many, capitalizing on people's desperation to find a job by offering obnoxiously low wages for a crap job that leaves most of their employees in welfare lines.
