      Entrevista

How I got hired at Geico: The Process 1. I applied online to an ad I saw filled out all the necessary sets about a week later I received a called from someone in HR saying that I met what they were looking for in an (Auto Adjuster), she did a short interview with me that took about 10 minutes, Short questions like (Why do you think you would be a good fit, Previous Experience, etc.) and she explained the process of being an Adjuster including the Schooling which consisted of being sent to San Diego for 3 weeks as a pre-School training, then a month in Virginia, and 3 weeks post-School training back in San Diego. (All expenses paid, plus your pay check). 2. Online Test which was timed (This is a pass or fail and of course if you failed then you wouldn’t move on). For me it was agriculture questions which you read a small paragraph and then had to answer questions about it. Then it was a visual portion, you had 10 minutes to complete as many questions as you could and then another 5 minutes to do the visual portion. Once Finished I emailed her back saying I had complete the test, and then she gave me a call saying I had passed and that she would set up an interview for the following day with Hiring manager. 3. Hiring manager called me the next day (Friday), (45 minutes) in this portion he asked me all different kinds of questions, from there he said that they would be holding face to face interviews the following Tuesday. 4. Tuesday: I made my appointment at 11:00 which I showed up an hour early to because I did live quite a bit away and it ended in my favor because someone didn’t show up so I ended up taking their place. This portion I set in a room with an interviewer who went through about 100 questions which took about an hour and a half, this portion was nerve-racking because there were a few other people getting interview at the same time in the room as well. Once I had finished she said I had passed that portion and wanted to know if I could come for a follow up interview on Wednesday. 5. Wednesday: Role Playing, (I think this was the worst part Approximately 2 hours): they set me at a desk in an empty hotel room, they played a 30 minute cd that explained a 13 page packet about all the material you would need to know to pass this portion. Then 35 minutes later I received a phone call which I had to explain; I was from this fake company. They explained to me that someone would be coming in to have an estimate written and that I would have to fill out paperwork for it. Then a person walked in about 15 minutes later, which I had to estimate how much it would cost to repair. This entire portion went by really fast. My best advice is to focus on the numbers and what they’re asking of you. They are going to try to fluster you and make sure that you have a hard time with them (COMPREMISE IS KEY), make sure you get something out of it and not just give them everything they want. They told me about 80% of people fail this portion. So JUST STAY CALM, SMILE, and FOCUS. 6. Once this portion had finished they put me in a room where I had to take a personality test (Easy; how many days are in a week, are you a strong reader) and you would have to agree or disagree with the statement. After that I was left sitting in a room waiting for their answer while they reviewed my role playing portion. 7. They took everyone one by one aside. For me they told me I had passed the portion and to have a seat and wait for the last set of the hiring process which meant meeting the Hiring Manager. Other people left the building so I assumed he told them they would call you if they had decided they wanted to hire you. 8. I meet with the Hiring Manager would just explained the job further and asked me a few questions, Then they Extended the job offer to me. 9. I received a call the next week after getting hired that said I had passed the background portion and credit check. And that the next step was to have a drug screening. 10. DRUG TEST: .

      Entrevista

I got a first interview which was a Zoom interview with a single recruiter. It was relatively informal and easy going. They appear to simply want to see if you are who you say you are on your application and you do indeed have the background and knowledge which you claim. My recruiter was very nice and very easy going. She asked just a few very typical questions about my job history. Easy stuff. We had a really positive conversation and she stated she was going to recommend me for an in person interview with the local claims manager. She said that would take place a neutral location such as a collision repair shops so we can discuss my field knowledge. She told me to expect a call from him in the next 3 business days. I received no communication after that. I emailed my recruiter after 2 weeks and asked for any update at all and received no reply. Three weeks after my initial interview I received an email stating I did not get the job.

1st phone interview with hiring manager, 2nd interview was with the area manager and included a Role Play. They don't expect you to know everything they just want to see how you handle yourself under pressure in my opinion.
