after four months, contacted by a DG I did not apply to or was not considering for traineeship prospects. Decided to do the interview anyway, was 30 mins, with three people. They selected someone "more within their needs".

very fast, make sure your application has no errors, then you get preselected. For the interview you will either get a phone call or a video call it depends on the the person in charge. My phone call was 10 minutes.
