Entrevista
I completed the first two steps in the interview process, an HR screen and an interview with a hiring manager.
For the HR screen I spoke with Camila, she was warm, welcoming and made the interview feel natural. She proactively provided most of the information I was looking for by explaining the interview process and the success factors for the role. She mentioned that outbound prospecting is a key element of the position and explained that they have a strong team made up of personable go-getter types.
The hiring manager I spoke with was Will. I very much appreciated Will's conversational approach to the interview. He asked thoughtful and personalized questions that truly helped assess whether Deel would be a strong fit for me. He was forthcoming about the key expectations and challenges of the role while giving me room to share my thoughts. Some of what he shared is that there is a substantial learning curve as Deel has several products to support Mid-Market companies. There is a mix of shorter and longer sales cycles.
The two people I met were friendly and honest. I left each interview excited about Deel but received and accepted an offer with another company partway through.

1- internal recruiter- basic CV review 2- hiring manager - Basic intro 20 min call 3-two peers of the HM very shallow calls with maybe one question during the entire interview that made me think about an answer. In the first interview with the HM I was told I wasnt in the "prefered location" for this role, but I look like a good candidate so they could hire me if no one equally good or good enough in the prefered country. I do live in the city that was shown in the job ed as the location of the position. two weeks after the last interview I got an email saying they are still considering my application and two weeks after they sent me the automated email of "thank you for your time" but with no real feedback as for what I can do to improve. I spent 3 hours with them plus preparation, and they couldnt even bothered with a proper feedback. Ive tried to ask the HM on linkedin but got nothing back. all in all I'd avoid interviewing with them unless you get a kick from being disrespected

I accepted an offer with another company. Respectfully, the hiring team at Deel didn't wow me. They went through the motions of the interview process, and didn't show genuine interest at later stages of the interview; i.e kept me at arms length. The hiring manager and head of sales also weren't as seasoned of leaders as I would of liked. It's very much a butts in seats organization right now as they're looking to IPO in the coming years. I chatted with a couple of AEs who verified that culture isn't as much of a focus as growing the business, at all cost. The product seems to be in demand, but it's not the type of organization I want to be at.
