      Entrevista

      I had a very bizarre and unprofessional interaction with a recruiter. I applied for this position and received a call back approximately two weeks later, which is perfectly reasonable. The recruiter called me while I was in a meeting so with respect to my current employer I was unable to answer, no voicemail message was left. Not recognizing the number but knowing it could be in regard to my application I called the number back once I had a moment to spare. The person who answered sounded irritated, and immediately asking me for identifying information, to which I responded that they called me and therefore should identify themselves before I will provide any personal information. They replied with their first name only, which didn't mean anything to me. I asked what they were calling me with regard to. They said I applied to a job with their company. At this point in the conversation I still only know this person's first name and they continue asking for identifying information and I'm feeling like this is a phone scam. So I ask what company I applied for and the response is that they don't know without me identifying myself but it is probably CoreLogic. Okay, so finally I am somewhat convinced that this is legitimate because I did in fact apply for a position with CoreLogic, and offer my name. First and only thing I'm told is that I should know CoreLogic doesn't pay for relocation, and I'm asked whether I have a problem with that. I'm okay with that, depending on how compensation negotiations go, however I just felt really put off by this whole interaction. After all of the unprofessional weirdness the recruiter made sure to lower my expectations immediately as well. At this point I requested that I be removed from consideration for the position. It may be this was a fluke and did not reflect the values or professionalism of CoreLogic, but if this is typical of the hiring process I can't be the only candidate who has been turned off by it.
