I applied to Charlie Health in August 2021 and received an invitation to interview in December. I responded but declined because I was happily employed by then. I was invited to interview once again at the end of February 2022 and accepted this time.
I was told that the position is a 1099 role with the opportunity to become a full-time W2 employee based "on merit." However, the 1099 role requires the contractor to work scheduled hours (2:30pm - 8pm in my case) and doesn't allow for any of the freedom typically associated with that type of employment.
They also use a very invasive third-party app called Crosschq to verify references. It scrapes the web to crosscheck info provided by the candidate with the candidate's (and references') web presence. Crosschq uses and stores the info the candidate provides about their references for recruitment purposes.
Their hiring practices seem unethical at best.
