The process was very unusual. The recruiter reached out to me from viewing my LinkedIn App. At no time did she ever ask to see my resume, nor did she want to discuss salary. I went to this interview to learn more about the company and to test my interview skills. Although I was very polite and professional I did not consider leaving my current high paying job for this one. I think they are just too small, a true start-up. My overall impression is they want to hire too talent, but they can’t afford to do so. Again, completely understandable since they are starting up.
I believe this company’s HR rep (Christina) is very junior and not quite sure how to recruit an executive. Regardless, it was good to see what this company is all about. I hope they make it, as their concept will be good for smaller markets.
The Chief Risk and Compliance Manager (Smeeta) very poised, nice, and appeared sharp but I thought it was strange that she told me about her extensive background working at saving the US after the mortgage crisis. In a short amount of time, it was clear that she wasn’t interested in hiring me (I could see it on her face).
Suggestion for prospects:
1. If they won’t give you salary info up front, pass. They probably will not be able to pay what you would require.
2. If they don’t ever want to see your resume, pass.
