Pretty easy. Manager was nice. Had to go through their questions and was shown the store at the end of the process. Got the job the same day. Also asked if I had a car which I assume was if I covered other stores.

Entrevista

Applied online, it was all rather easy. Got an email after a couple of days asking me to arrange an interview online, I did this and got an email to confirm that my interview was scheduled in Scotland. I live in Northern Ireland so this was the first mistake that they made with me, fortunately it was just a system error and they were expecting me in the store that I applied for. I think in general I got the job because they felt sympathetic towards my awful interview experience.

Preguntas de entrevistas
  • Interview questions were ok. Started off with admin, got asked to describe myself which I wasn't comfortable with really because I didn't know what they wanted to know so I think I just start talking for the sake of saying something. I could not get any emotion on my interviewers face- he was like a brick wall. Then moved on to some basic questions that were simple enough to answer. Still no reassurance. Wasn't very nice atmosphere to be part of really. We then had to go onto the shop floor - something that I was quite excited for. I was taken to an aisle of no relevance and asked further questions about what you would do with certain customers. I was then told to go and get a product that I was passionate about and try and sell it to him- STILL NO EMOTION ON HIS FACE. At this point I wasn't confident with how the interview was going as I had no idea how he was responding to me. Not even a smile. I was then told to walk around the shop floor with them and talk about the confidence of the customers that I seen. Something that was extremely difficult because I didn't want to make the customers aware that I was talking about them and their shopping experience as that would make me uncomfortable if I was the shopper. I then was brought to a customer and told to ask if she needed help. This is where it all went to sh1t. I approached the customer and asked if she needed help, she asked if they had a certain product in a different colour. Since I don't actually work there, I obviously didn't know so the manager stepped in and found one. At this point I thought it would be good to give some interaction so I commented on the quality of the mascara as it is one that I have used myself before. She ignored me. When she was trying out the new alternative product she was given I waited patiently to see if she needed more help. To which she turned around and said "why are you standing all around me?" The manager at this point stepped in and explained that I was in an interview process. She then continued to explain that she worked in customer service and that it was very intimidating and very unprofessional. She continued to explain that I seemed very insincere and it should have been dealt with extremely better. The manager, obviously embarrassed, offered her the mascara for free and I apologised. To which she said "okay." I was then told that my interview was finished and was directed back into a room where I was left with the assistant manager whilst the manager went to photocopy my passport. I then started to cry, embarrassing I know but I was mortified. The assistant manager was lovely and gave me a hug and a tissue and explained that it wouldn't hinder my interview experience (something that I doubt is true). Overall, the manager wasn't nice and didn't sound confident or comfortable in his job, the customer was a horrible b1tch and the interview was not organised well enough. 3/10 for the experience really.

Applied online, followed up with an online assessment, then Emailed a few days later to book interview that took place 3 weeks later. At interview, taken to office on level 3, asked questions by one lady and another took down relevant information. Emailed two days letter saying I didn't get the job (implying it was due to lack of experience).

Entrevista

After completing the online questionaire, I received an email to book an appointment for my interview. The interview was great, I went 20 minutes earlier and had a look on the products and store. Then, I presented to a manager saying I was there for an interview and she was the one who conducted my interview. The first part of the interview was in the office, the manager asked me general questions about my availability, holidays and a short presentation of myself. Then, she started the questions about tell me a time when you... and after this, that was about 25 minutes more or less, we went to the shop floor, I was asked to present the product I had been chosen (that task was in the email). The manager asked me how I could react to different situations with customers and after this I had to approach to the customers and ask if they needed any help. When the interview was over, the manager photocopied my passport and said that in a couple of days I would received an answer. After 4 hours, the manager phone me and told me I was successful. Yiha!
