Entrevista

Online test, Phone interview and Assessment day. I was invited in Cambridge office for an assessment. The recruiter was the most unprofessional person I never met in my life. The first step is the English test and a second language, in ma case Italian. We were about 12 people. In the office where missing computers so I had to wait others to finish. It was very distracting and I did not have the same time like others candidates. The recruiter did not know who was doing what and asking questions to understand what was going on and who finished the test. Result I did not pass the English test because I was rush to finish it. While other people that started first took all their time. Remember people do not go away from companies but from bad management. Now I do understand why they do this big campaign to recruit people.

Entrevista

I applied online through the careers website, a simple process that took roughly 1 hour (language tests, role play exercises and personality quiz). After completing the process I was quickly contacted by a recruiter to arrange a phone interview. The only issue with this was that the date of the phone interview kept being changed (several times including on the day itself). The phone interview was conducted by a recruiter who had clearly read my CV and overall it was a very good experience, as the recruiter was very nice and it felt more like a nice chat than a stressful interview. Not long after I was informed that they would like to invite me for an assessment day. My only issue was that this was rescheduled several times, 3 times I believe (the first time however was my fault). This wouldn't have been an issue if it weren't in another town (making me lose money from train tickets and having to change accommodation). On the day of the interview itself, there were several stages of the process, it lasted from about 9:30 until 12:45 in my case. Firstly, the group of applicants was taken into a common area (cafeteria) where we filled out a form regarding our availability. Then we were taken into a "computer room" where each of us did an English Language Test online and afterwards some of us did a second similar test but for the language we had applied for, with 10 minutes to complete each test. After that, the recruiter did a very interesting and informative presentation regarding Booking.com and working for the company, explaining shift patterns, career progression options and benefits of working for the company. I was indeed looking forward to the opportunity of working for them. Then followed by an "speaking" test for the ones applying for languages other than English, in which we spoke briefly we a member of staff to attest our fluency in the said language. Finally, an individual interview with 2 members of staff, that was divided into 2 parts: 1. Role Play Exercise - Trying to resolve a situation with an angry customer 2. Traditional interview Q&A situation. Overall was experience was okay, I thought the assessment day (Friday) went very well and was excited by the prospect of working for the company. However, the following Monday I was contacted by the original recruiter to say that I had indeed done very in all the stages of the assessment (their words not mine) but the vacancies that I applied and interviewed for weren't available anymore.....which left me a bit confused, I must say.....why bother go through that lengthy interview process if there weren't any vacancies available?! I was also informed that they will keep my information and contact me if any vacancy arises in the future, so fingers crossed.

Entrevista

I applied online, to complete the application online it takes one hour ( English language test + another language if you have applied for it, phone call simulation and psychological test ). Two days after I received a call from a very kind recruiter, he asked me a general question about my previous job, some problem-solving examples and my availability. At the end of the conversation, he asked me if I was available to go to Cambridge the week after for an assessment, I was lucky enough to live already in the UK but I had to pay an expensive train ticket and one-night accommodation. When arrived in the Cambridge's office I didn't aspect to find such cold and ghosty office, no one said "Hi". I completed my languages test ( English and my native language) than we had a group test and finally a face to face interview for 40 minutes where once again the asked standard questions and example of problem-solving. I did even a simulation of a call with an unhappy customer. Overall the staff was very cold but professional.b I supposed to start in January but they never let me know any answer. I think is not very correct let go someone for a face to face interview don't receive any kind of refund for the transportation ticket and most important don't receive any feedback. All this stress for an entry-level position and low salary.

It was easy, clear and very thorough. The interviewers were very friendly and so was the telephone interview. After applying online, I received a link for an online assessment. If you are successful, they arrange for a telephone interview and if you are successful there, you get invited to a face 2 face interview.

Interview made via skype. Nice and well prepare, it won't be a problem. You should be ready for a test in your language and on top of that in the language your are applying for. It is online and would be a good 40 minutes length. Only after passing this test you will have an interview, in my case it was a 1:1 video interview.
