The interview process was kinda long but they kept me well informed during it all. I always had someone from RH that I could reach out if I had any doubts and they were super sweet to me. The process went like this: 1) A screening with HR, very casual, where they got to know me and I got to know them; 2) A conversation with one of the design leads, where we talked more abou technical stuff and I got to ask some questions about their work environment 3) A design challenge that I had a week to solve, really fun! 4) A long interviews (around 3 - 4 hours) with several team members on different subjects, ranging from talking about my design challenge and my long term objectives in my carreer. Everyone was super nice to me all the time, I really felt a good energy from the team members.

The whole process took around 1 month , the company wanted me to wait another 2 weeks in order to get the final answer. The company was not sure how many new customer agents they are going to hire at that stage. If you want a smooth and quick interview process, I would recommend you to rethink if you want to apply to their ATHENS hub.

The interviews were in the following order: - HR screening - Interview with the hiring manager (that was particularly useful to understand the role) - Technical interview with 2 data scientists - Take home assignment (open-ended assignment took me two full days to complete) - Final interviews (review of the assignment with Beat's data scientists where I explained my thought process in the solution I submitted, 2x interviews with product and engineering managers (behavioral and product management questions), team fit interview, and HR catch up). Although the process took long and the home assignment could be shorter and a bit more defined, I really enjoyed the interviews.

Phone screeing with HR, product related interview with PM, technical interview with 2 ML engineers, take-home assignemnt, follow up interview on the assignment with the 2 ML engineers, another round of product related interviews with a PM, one fit interview with a VP and another one with an engineering manager. While the process might seem lengthy, it took only 4 weeks from sending my application across, to receiving an offer. HR was very responsive and quick to arrange next steps and follow-up between interviews. I don't think that any of the interviews were redundant, they were mostly kept short 30-45mins and to the point. They were fairly demanding as everyone was interested in drilling down into technical aspects of projects I've worked on and understand exactly which bits and pieces I was responsible for delivering, how I approached the problems and why etc. Anything from statistics fundamentals, to ML concepts, project management in cross-functional teams and a real focus on how those relate to, drive and impact product. Everyone I met along the way was knowledgable in their respective discipline and really challenged me along the way, asking relevant probing questions. The discussions I had flowed, were intelligent and really gave me an opportunity to get a sense for the lay of the land in the company and for the general culture and practices that are endorsed. The take-home assignment was fairly open-ended with somewhat noisy and fairly nuanced data. I actually found it really interesting to work on and manageable in terms of size for 2-3 afternoons. That being said I had good relevant experience and sped through it, less experienced hires would have probably struggled.

If I had to describe the process in 2 words, I'd say rigorous and humane. Timeslots for interviews were decided taking into consideration the candidates time slots (which is not very common, but highly appreciated). I had 3 initial Interviews, a business case, a final interview and at the final stage a one-on-one with my boss to-be plus a bonus session with Argentina’s GM.

Interview via Zoom due to coronavirus. Very friendly and asked questions that had to do with daily tasks of the internship. Very good follow up after they interview. Overall it was a good experience.

Overall nice and friendly people, both HR and engineering team. However the process takes extremely long. It took them 5 (!) months of interviewing and take-home assessments to finally tell me they do not wish to proceed further. The HR was extremely slow in communicating the results with me, they needed on average 2 weeks to tell me if I made it to the next step or not. The interviews were of average difficulty but the take home assignment required insane amount of time, and in the end it felt like they were looking for someone to find answers to all the questions they couldn’t tackle themselves.

I was approached for a role which was in line with my expectations, which is a good point. The outreach felt like a template, but hey, I got get past that. Once I said yes to the initial chat I was invited for a conversation with the recruiter directly. I received also a nice little info pack about the role and the company. Nice touch! The bad part was actually on the conversation with the recruiter. As I was a sourced candidate, I was assuming this was a sort of info call, or a conversation where I could discuss the role, the company more in details. I really wanted to hear a fellow recruiter pitch his company and the role :) Instead the recruiter went into full on "talent screen" mode, asked questions about my motivation and my background without even assuming that I may not even be interested in the job. In the last 5 minutes of the 45! minutes call, I could ask some questions. Yaaay! The last drop was that after all this I was rejected by a no-reply template email saying either I am overqualified or I don't match the requirements...Which one? I guess I will never know. I am not saying the company is not great, but for sure the recruitment process lacks some focus. Maybe just Gustavo forgot I was a sourced candidate??
