First round was a 25 minutes phone interview with an HR person. It was more to see if there was a personality fit. They asked generic typical interview questions. The person interviewing me didn't seem to know much about the roll itself so they didn't ask any technical questions

A customary HR screener happened a month after I submitted my application. What followed over the following 2 months was a series of 5 attorney interviews, a written assignment, and a follow-up interview about the assignment. All interviews were virtual, 30-minutes long, and fully behavioral. The interviewers were interested in my experience, skills, and motivations; they were personable though rather formal; they also offered helpful insight into the role and Amex generally. The written assignment was short and straight-forward, though easy to overthink; I was given a weekend and a day to submit it. Unfortunately, it took two follow-ups over the course of the month after my last interview to receive the final decision.
