Everything was done online and over the phone. It took a few months after applying to get the phone call. I had one interview. Then I filled out my W4 and I9 getting my I9 noterised before faxing them to the company. I did all my training online. After about a week or two I was able to start. Keep in mind that I was hired for a new project they were starting and had to wait until the project start date which is part of the reason for the long wait to start working.

First discussion was with a recruiter via phone. They gave more details about the job and explained the interview process. The recruiter kept in contact via email to schedule the interview. A few weeks later the Field Supervisor called to interview.
