Entrevista
This is one of the most inconsiderate companies I've ever had the displeasure of interviewing for. Not considerate of your time or well being. Applied online and was later invited to a "hiring event". Already have a full time job I absolutely love but am in need of extra money for the holiday season and because of covid slowing my husbands business down and took two hours of my vacation time to interview. Showed up to a line of 60+ people (I counted). Stood in line outdoors with the HOT sun beating down on my head for over an hour while wearing a mask. And let’s be real, most people don’t go into a job interview thinking “well, I better guzzle this gallon of water before heading in, I’ll be in the sun for awhile” or “wow I should really layer on the sunscreen”. Stood in line for two hours just to finally reach the single interviewer that asked 3 questions, the same questions that were on my application I turned in previously and for them to say to everyone "they might call back". Was late returning to my full time job because it took longer than two hours to to answer three questions. They had everyone come to one location at once instead of spreading interviews by each location and person. By the time I reached the interviewer I felt so dehydrated from standing in the hot sun I felt like I honestly was about to faint and dizzy. Also got a sunburn on my ears waiting. If this place treats their potential employees this way I would hate to see how they treat their actual employees. Interviews are also supposed to entice people to want to work for them just as much as those being interviewed are supposed to impress. I can tell you I WAS NOT impressed. This place not only lost me as a loyal customer but potential employee. I feel really bad for everyone that stood in line for an hour plus. The least they could have done was explain what to expect time wise so people could plan accordingly and offer water to people. It makes sense why there are so many job vacancies.

What position would you like? How many hours are you available? Why do you want to work for us?

Interviewer first told us the question he would ask during our individual interviews and told us to think on it. Then he gave a tour of the store and gave us some information about how everything is stocked. Then we were called into his office one by one for an interview. He asked why do you want to work at aldi, about what shifts would work best, etc.

Group-style interview, came in with about 20 other people, interviewed with the manager with one other applicant, pretty simple interview process (asks about your experience, why ALDI, etc.); second interview is with the district manager, more in depth (asks specific questions about the job, more about why ALDI, etc). Overall not too difficult of an interview process.

I got there ten minutes early and was told to wait. I waited alongside 9 other people who were there for an interview as well. Each one of us got interviewed individually for about 5 minutes. There were two interviewers, both reasonably kind. I dressed in business casual although out of the other 9 people there, only 3 were dressed in business casual. The rest were dressed in everyday clothes, gym clothes, or sweats. After the interview, I was told that was it and I would receive a call in the next few days regarding the position.
